Early last month, webmasters at The Register noticed an unexpected spike in our site traffic. Suddenly, they had far more readers than ever before, and they were reading at a record clip. Visits actually doubled on certain landing pages. Or so it seemed.

AVG was my favourite antivirus up until this. It's annoying cause it displays loads of icons in the web browser, and even if you disable it in AVG's control panel, AVG displays a message saying I'm not secure with a red cross showing so it looks like there's always something wrong with my PC.
Same here, I wouldn't mind the Linkscanner if it wasn't for the fact that by disabling it, it constantly makes it look like there's something wrong by displaying that red icon all the time!
