I remember reading a while ago about the first, historically accurate piece of evidence by the Roman historian Cornelius Tacitus. He mentions Christus (Jesus) as a person convicted by Pontius Pilate during Tiberius' reign.

At the end of the day there probably was someone known as "Jesus" going around doing wonderful things. All the super-natural phenomena is just story-telling woven into a few grains of truth that actually might be historically accurate.
Take the Da Vinci code for instance, about 30% of it is accurate but the rest is speculative or just plain fiction to make a good story.

And anyway, we all know the Greeks and Romans were good at telling a story or two

Yep, like all good stories there are probably certain elements of truth to it. Spice it up a bit and you have a best seller.

Exactly! I always say the best books are the ones that have a grain of truth that's spiced up. Isn't that just the workings of being a good story teller?
