A brothel madam has been jailed after a judge told her she had "exploited" eastern European prostitutes in the city.She was sentenced to 12 months for her role in three brothels.

One was in Salters Road, Wonford, Exeter, and two were in villages near Redruth and Truro.Exeter Crown Court heard that her name was on the lease for all the properties, and that police found a shopping list of items, including sex toys, stockings and "work clothes" during raids.

She was arrested in Exeter but bailed to Albion Road, Helston, took a cut from the earnings of Lithuanian prostitutes working at the brothels, allowing her to deposit more than £40,000 into banks over two years.
